Wienerwald

Wienerwald – or in English, Vienna Woods, is ideal for those looking to include a little nature and exercise in their weekend away. This breathtaking rural landscape is bursting with plenty of hiking trails, and you can experience a wide array of flora and fauna.

Take a picnic and plan to spend a good few hours in nature before heading back to the hustle and bustle of the capital.

Naschmarkt

Vienna isn’t just about museums, operas and palaces, it’s also about good food! And no trip to Vienna would be complete without several hours spent trying and tasting all the mouth-watering food on offer at Naschmarkt.

This open-air market is the largest of its kind in the area, and it’s a great way to experience authentic Austrian food. Make sure to get your hands on a Wiener Schnitzel or a delicious Apfelstrudel!

Belvedere Palace in Vienna

Belvedere Palace

One of the most highly recommended tourist attractions in Vienna is the Belvedere Palace. It consists of two palaces – the Upper and Lower Belvedere – and it’s surrounded by beautiful gardens and stunning landscapes.

The gardens are free, but to see some of the beautiful artwork and architecture inside, you will have to pay an entry fee. However with the opportunity to see Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss, stunning marble rooms and the iconic portrait of Jacques Louis David’s Napoleon means it’s certainly worth every Euro.
